Summer campaigns run on sun, beaches and travel. Fall and winter run on something else entirely: routine, learning, holidays and habit-building.

Different season, different psychology, different mechanics.

We worked on many back to school 🏫 , halloween πŸŽƒ and advent πŸŽ… campaigns to maybe give you some fun ideas for this year. Here are 10 ideas pulled straight from our Engagement Rate Report, which analysed over 2.4 million unique visitors across gamified solutions. From patterns that already work.

Here's what's worth building this season if you want to impress your audience and stand out from the competition:

For families & kids

1. Back-to-school games and quizzes: the edutainment format that made up two-thirds of all quiz usage in our data. Works for any topic, any brand.

2. Advent calendars: one of the highest-retention mechanics we track. People return daily by design, not by accident.

3. Homework helper AI tools: light, useful, personalised. Parents share these more than they share ads.

4. Gamified activity books (physical + digital): we built one for Zavarovalnica Sava.

Games, stickers, a fold-out board. Families spent real time with it, together.

For retail & ecommerce

5. Spin-to-win wheels tied to seasonal promotions: simple, intuitive, and still one of our highest start-rate mechanics.

6. Multiplayer challenges for gifting season: remember Chapter 8? A game you can't play alone becomes its own distribution channel. Perfect for "send this to someone you're buying a gift for."

7. Progress-based loyalty pushes: Q4 is when loyalty programs either compound or go quiet. Add visible progress (points, tiers, streaks) and completion jumps 15–25% based on our data.

For B2B & corporate

8. Year-in-review personalised recaps: we touched on this in Chapter 11. Take a customer's or employee's year and turn it into something they'd actually want to open.

9. Internal learning platforms disguised as games: our A1 Spletne Bistre Glave case showed 12+ minute average sessions from kids learning safety content. The same logic works for compliance training, onboarding, and internal comms that nobody usually reads.

For brand awareness

10. Holiday-themed AI generators: a Lidl-style wish generator, a birthday song, a personalised card. Give people something to make their own, then let them share it.

The sharing is the campaign.

The common thread across all 10?

None of the presented ideas are just a fun little digital decoration. But in reality gamified solutions are powerful tool for hitting your business goals. Each one maps to a specific funnel stage: engagement, leads, retention, or reach. Pick the mechanic based on what you actually need this quarter, not what looks fun in a deck.
